Sailing around the world is the best way to see the world! After buying a Lagoon 42 -catamaran in 2019, Pasi went on a round-the-world sailing trip with his family in the summer of 2022 to experience the most amazing sunsets, the clearest lagoons on our planet, and to enjoy an authentic life at sea.
Sailing around the world on a catamaran is a unique experience.
Pasi and his wife dreamed of ocean sailing for several years, before the right opportunity came to make the dream come true. Even though the family has 6- and 8-year-old children, a two-year round-the-world sailing trip was not left unfulfilled. Many globetrotters say that you should set aside at least three years for the trip, even though you could sail around the world in 1.5 years.
The family's journey started in Finland, from where they sailed across the Baltic Sea and the North Sea towards Holland, France and the English Channel. On the way, the family met other family sailors and enjoyed the wonderful scenery and encounters with nature.
The journey continued along the coast of Portugal towards the Canary Islands, from where they sailed across the Atlantic to the World Cruising Club ARC+ - along with the competition. Almost 90 boats sailed together in calm weather conditions.
In the Caribbean, the family enjoyed the paradise scenery and met new friends. The journey continues through the Panama Canal, the Galápagos Islands and the Pacific Ocean towards New Zealand.
Long sea voyages require sailing skills and experience, and the Lagoon 42 catamaran's features such as stability, comfortable spaces and good performance make it an excellent choice. The Lagoon 42 catamaran is an excellent choice for families with children. Its 98 square meter deck area offers stability and gentle rocking, so children can move and walk safely during the trip. While at anchor, the covered terrace offers pleasant shade when the sun shines directly above or a rainstorm surprises you.
Sailing is a more ecological way to travel and see the world than, for example, flying from one destination to another. Thanks to the solar panels installed on the boat, electricity can also be obtained in an ecological way!
Sailing around the world offers a unique opportunity to get to know many different cultures and natural sites in comfort, safety and peace of mind - while enjoying the journey. It is an excellent way to experience the world together with family or friends and create unforgettable memories.
